Short Term Disability

Paycor is pleased to provide the safety net of financial protection with Short Term Disability (STD) benefits at no cost to you!  STD provides salary continuance if you are out of work by bridging the gap before Long Term Disability benefits begin. Payments begin after satisfying a 5-day waiting period, during which you will be required to use PTO.

Long Term Disability

Long Term Disability (LTD) coverage protects you if you become disabled as a result of a non-work related illness or injury. LTD is also offered at no cost to Paycor Associates. Keep in mind, this benefit coordinates with Social Security income and may be paid through retirement age.

Leave of Absence (LOA)

Each Associate’s situation is unique and eligibility for certain leave types may vary from one Associate to another. Below is a brief summary of the leaves available to Paycor Associates:

Family Medical Leave (FML)

To be eligible for FMLA leave, you must have been employed by Paycor for at least 12 months (which need not be consecutive) and have worked for at least 1250 hours of service during the 12-month period immediately preceding the start of the leave. FMLA can be take consecutively or on an intermittent basis. Time off under FMLA is unpaid, but may run concurrently with paid benefits such as Short Term Disability or PTO. FMLA is available regardless of whether you work at a location where there are 50 Associates within a 75-mile radius.

Extended Leave of Absence

An Associate may need time off work due to a serious health condition of their own, including pregnancy and childbirth or adoption, but are not eligible for FML.  In those instances, an Associate may request  leave as an Extended Leave of Absence.

Personal Leave

Associates not eligible for benefits under our FMLA policy, but need time off work to care for a spouse, child, or parent with a serious medical condition; to attend a personal need or emergency which requires you to be away from work; or to travel for an extended period of more than 1-2 weeks, may be eligible for time off as a Personal Leave of Absence.

Parental Leave

Associates who experience the birth of a child or the placement of a child for foster care or adoption receive paid time off to bond with their new child. Birth-Parents and Non-Birth Parents are eligible for 4 weeks of Paid Parental Leave benefit.

Paid Parental Leave may be used in conjunction with other paid benefits, such as PTO or Short Term Disability, and may run concurrently with other leave types including FMLA, ELOA, or Personal Leave.

Elder Caregiver Leave

Associates are eligible for up to 3 days of paid time off to care for an ill parent or in-law.

Other Accommodations

Paycor provides reasonable accommodations to Associates with known disabilities to enable them to perform their jobs, which may include, but not limited to, restructuring of non-essential job duties, modifying work schedules, providing productive temporary transitional work assignments, and reassigning disabled Associates to vacant positions which are commensurate with the individual’s skill set and work experience, or modifying our Leave of Absence policies to provide additional time off work. Should an Associate need time off work for a disabling condition that extends beyond the 12 week FMLA period, or the Associate is not eligible, Paycor may grant approved time off as an Extended Leave of Absence (ELOA). Time off under an ELOA is unpaid but may run concurrent with paid benefits such as Short Term Disability or PTO.

Other Leaves of Absence

You may have a need for time away from work for a variety of other reasons, such as

  • Military Leave
  • Jury Duty
  • Bereavement Leave

Depending on the type of leave and your available PTO, this time may be paid, partially paid, or unpaid.
